Having one's biological age determined is no longer just an insider tip for biohackers, it has now entered the mainstream. And that is a good thing. After all, biological age awareness is considered the key not only to recognising one's own health status, but also to monitoring the effects of health-promoting measures. In this context, “staying young” is not a vain attempt to escape the signs of the times, but rather the legitimate wish to achieve one’s tasks and goals physically and mentally over the long term. Last December, for example, the Wirtschaftswoche titled on its front page “Should I have my biological age determined in 2021?”. This is certainly good advice since knowing whether one's biological age is above or below one's chronological age can help one to better assess one's state of health as well as to react accordingly. Awareness of biological age can also be helpful in achieving a targeted assessment of one's own performance. FC Bayern player Robert Lewandowski, for example, had his biological age determined in November. The scientific test showed that the 31-year-old striker was biologically "significantly younger" and thus better able to perform. The record-holding champion’s coaching staff was no doubt delighted to hear this. While ordinary citizens were long denied access to these research tools, high-performance lifestyle products are now available to consumers enabling them to also determine their biological age precisely and even monitor its evolution.
